Reconnecting, Rewilding, and very rewarding...

Please forgive the catch phrases but it seemed appropriate. At last I was able to unofficially visit Kneep Estate near Horsham in Sussex to see for myself what has happened there. I would urge you to look at the story via the internet and then plan a visit. This is a fantastic project with fantastic achievements and results, loosely termed as Rewilding. A huge intensively farmed estate has bravely been 'abandoned' to nature. Hopefully others will follow and save at least part of our planet from the mistaken path, that those in the position to do so, have taken us.

So, lead by my good friend who lives nearby, with his unusually intelligent and enthusiastic daughter at my side, off we went into what appeared to be another world. Actually a rare excursion into the real world, West Sussex behind the Downs as it used to be, as it should be!

As you can see by the photos above, we very quickly discovered the Stalks nest!

(A story worth it's own separate blog)... Tune in next Spring!

Then, amongst many other special moments, an intimate few with a Mum and Daughter Fallow deers. The ultimate was however was to spot, sneak up on and photograph one of the 'wild' pigs.

It spotted us and charged argh!!! No problem tho'. As I often do, just simple guru like facial expressions and body language tamed the ferocious beast and it dropped to it's knees, rolled over and begged a scratch haha! Steve
